Starting the 11th to the 21st of November at Martha Gault Gallery on Slippery Rock Campus the Fine and Performing Arts department is hosting the 2019 Annual Juried High School Art Exhibition. Throughout the 10 days art will be shown from select high school students from high schools in the area. Some awards will be presented to select artists such as, Best of Show, SRU Arts Students' Choice, and even the incoming Art Majors' freshman scholarship for accepted 2020 admissions. The exhibit itself will be open everyday from 11am until 5pm, up until the award ceremony on November 21st. These artworks were chosen by Tricia Bishop, Instructor of Art, she chose roughly 70-80 pieces from High Schools across the Western PA region.
I attended the show at 3pm Monday November 11th with my sister. Other than Elizabeth Heinz who was taking note of everyone who came in, we were the only three people there. Monday being Veterans Day I assumed the Gallery would not be too full but it was a very peaceful event and I am sure there will be other times when the Gallery will be full of people.
